Discover answers to common questions about hearing care services at Erin Mills Lodge.
How do I know which hearing aid is right for me?
Choosing the right hearing aid depends on your specific hearing loss, lifestyle, and preferences. Our audiologists will conduct a comprehensive hearing evaluation and discuss your daily activities, budget, and style preferences. With this information, we can recommend the best hearing aid solution tailored to your needs. We’ll also guide you through a trial period to ensure your hearing aids are a proper fit.
Are there hearing aids for severe hearing loss?
Yes, there are hearing aids specifically designed for individuals with severe to profound hearing loss. These models often have more powerful amplification and advanced features to help you hear speech and sounds more clearly in various environments. Our audiologists can help determine if these powerful devices are right for you and provide guidance on maximizing their benefits.
How often should I replace my hearing aids?
Hearing aids typically last between five and seven years with proper care and maintenance. However, advancements in technology and changes in your hearing needs may prompt earlier replacement. During your annual hearing checkups, we can assess whether your current hearing aids are still meeting your needs or if upgrading would improve your quality of life.
