Hearing tests: Hearing tests determine the nature and degree of hearing loss. After a hearing test, a hearing solution may be discussed, and recommendations or referrals can be made.

Hearing Aid Cleaning & Adjustments: Hearing aid cleaning is an important part of regular hearing aid maintenance to help keep hearing devices in good working order.

Hearing Aid Programming: Programming adjustments may be necessary if there has been a change in hearing loss or if an individual is still becoming used to the sound of amplification in different or new environments.

Hearing Aids: The Ear and Hearing Clinic offers a full range of hearing solutions from hearing aids and earmolds to assistive listening devices. When new hearing aids are recommended there will be a discussion about make and model to determine the appropriate solution and type of amplification necessary to assist in individual hearing loss. A hearing test is required before fitting new hearing aids; please contact our office for an appointment.

Earwax Removal: Ear wax can be an ongoing issue for many individuals, especially hearing aid wearers. It is important that hearing aids are used in clear ears to avoid clogging up and damaging the instrument or causing feedback issues. Ear wax removal is done by manual removal and/or flushing of the ears, depending on the wax’s nature.

Benefits for Residents

Residents at Coleman Care Centre benefit significantly from our dedicated hearing services, which are designed to enhance their quality of life. Here are some key advantages:

Convenience

Our services are delivered directly within the retirement village, eliminating the need for travel and allowing residents to receive care in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Personalized Care

Each resident receives tailored hearing assessments and solutions that align with their specific needs, promoting more effective communication and social interaction.

Increased Engagement

With improved hearing abilities, residents can actively participate in community activities, fostering stronger connections with peers and enhancing their overall well-being.

Family Involvement

We encourage family members to join appointments, enabling a supportive environment where loved ones can learn about hearing health and be actively involved in care decisions.

Ongoing Support

Follow-up appointments ensure residents have continual access to assistance, education, and adjustments as their hearing needs evolve, ensuring long-term satisfaction with their hearing solutions.

Enhanced Independence

Improved hearing can empower residents to navigate their environment more confidently, reducing the risk of isolation and encouraging them to pursue their hobbies and interests.

Kitchener location

Residents are encouraged to bring a family member along to ask questions!

If new hearing aids are purchased, there is always a full information session included to educate residents and their family members about their new hearing devices. We understand that questions can arise over time from continual hearing aid use. This is why, at the resident’s follow-up appointment, we provide further opportunity to answer questions and provide feedback about the new hearing product.
