According to the CDC, the prevalence of hearing loss is twice as common as diabetes or cancer. And although more common in adults ages 50 and up, hearing loss a ects all ages, demographics and people across the globe.
About 40 million adults ages 20-69 in the U.S. alone have noise-induced hearing loss, and approximately 3 in every 1,000 babies are born with detectable hearing loss in one or both ears.
At Ear and Hearing Clinic, we believe that hearing well is essen al to being able to live life to the fullest! We are dedicated and passionate about crea ng hearing solu ons designed for people of all ages and all degrees of hearing loss so that they can connect with others socially and thrive mentally and emo onally.
As part of our mission, we launched the Gi of Hearing contest in 2014. Juliane Shantz became the rst adopter of this contest in her region and has o ered it every year since, without fail. Phonak works in partnership with her to navigate, promote and deliver hearing aids to each winner.
“We ini ally started this campaign to show how we are di erent than other clinics. Within our community we know there are people in need who can’t a ord good quality hearing aids and I wanted to be able to give back to the people who have made a di erence here.”
“Having been born and raised here, I now own a business of my own in the community. Giving back to the people who helped get me to where I am today is something that is near and dear to my heart. As a Doctor of Audiology, I want people to excel in life with hearing aids that t well and don’t just sit in a dresser drawer.”
